Danby - Mt. Tabor Veterans Memorial

The veterans of the two communities of Danby and Mt. Tabor are remembered via the Veteran's Memorial located at the junction of

Mt. Tabor Avenue and South Main Street, overlooking Mill Brook in the heart of Danby's Historic Village Center. The memorial was envisioned and designed by former resident Richard Carter, a member of Danby-Mt. Tabor NOW, which built the memorial over a period of several years

with the generous help and support of many community members and businesses.

The initial step was to remove and repurpose the Historic Register post & beam house that once housed the local telephone switchboard. Vermont Quarries Corporation donated the marble and the memorial was dedicated on October 16, 2016.
